One hundred and forty-five Democrats opposed the ‘Preventing Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act’ bill, which targets illegal immigrants with a history of sex crimes.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), aims to strengthen measures addressing immigration enforcement and public safety.
“Our country has been ravaged by a horror of illegal immigrants…violently raping American women and girls,” Mace said during a debate on the bill.
“I know the lifelong scars, the irreversible scars, these heinous crimes leave behind.”
